Engaging with the Eternal is like a journey with God as He establishes and matures communities of people who will reach successive generations. It takes God working in and through us as we commit ourselves in real love. When the integrity and love of God is reflected through the fellowship of his people, they are of great benefit and blessing to any society. As we mature and abide in our relationship with our Creator, our lives increasingly will demonstrate His character.

All of us are on a journey as we live our  lives here on earth. In that context, all of us make plans. As we journey, there are many things to consider for reaching our destination. Though we never can guarantee success, we still plan, often primarily considering methods, like using specific strategies, processes, or tools. Even though we may select methods that are supposedly tested and proven, still there is no guarantee that they will work in our situation. We actually should first look at fundamental principles. The wisdom provided by these principles will make it much easier to find relevant methods. The principles will also help us recognize the best timing for implementing any particular method. Sometimes we may even need to modify, combine, or create new methods to best serve our goal of engaging with the Eternal.

“As to methods, there may be a million and then some, but principles are few. The man who grasps principles can successfully select his own methods. The man who tries methods, ignoring principles, is sure to have trouble.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
